Japan: no country that is safe international ladies

A Tokyoite reassesses her view of Japan after another violent encounter is ignored by passers-by, authorities

I’ve lived in Japan off and on for a long time, and I’ve always felt safe on my bike right right here, specially when I usually see young and women that are old biking after all hours for the evening. But after a conference a couple weeks ago, personally i think as though this sense that is false of happens to be stripped away.

Cycling house at 8:30 p.m. on a street that is well-lit Tokyo, we sensed another biker by my side, and so I slowed up to let him pass. At that time he instantly cut over, trapped me against a car that is parked grabbed my tire.

He started yelling at me personally in Japanese, but the one thing i really could obviously comprehend was “You stole this bike!” we insisted that I had maybe perhaps maybe not and attempted to distance themself, however the guy had been strong and continued yanking on my bike.
